We are delighted to announce that, for the second year in a row, St. Francis International School students were winners in the “Keats-Shelley Annual Poetry Prize for Schools” national competition.
Organised by the Keats-Shelley House in Rome, this prestigious prize is now in its 31st edition and all schools in Italy are invited to participate.
This year’s competition themes were:
– “Cats” and “Egypt” for students between the ages of 5 and 9.
– “Fear” and “Inspiration” for students between the ages of 10 and 13.
Our students won FIRST prize in both categories: Olivia G. (Grade 4) for her “A Cat’s Poem” and Elisabeth C. (Grade 8) for her poem “Disillusioned”.
In addition, Antonio L. (Grade 4) was commended for his poem “Mummies”.
A special “thank you” to our English and Literature teacher, Ms. Monaco, for her effort to coordinate the submissions to the Keats-Shelley House.
Congratulations to all our participating students and teachers for their commitment and impressive achievement.
