Children in Kindergarten celebrated the International Day of Peace 2022 with different projects, all related to this year’s theme “End Racism, Build Peace”.

We are delighted to announce that, for the second year in a row, St. Francis International School students were winners in the “Keats-Shelley Annual Poetry Prize for Schools” national competition. Organised by the Keats-Shelley House in Rome, this prestigious prize is now in its 31st edition and all schools in Italy are invited to participate. This year’s competition themes were: – “Cats” and “Egypt” for students between the ages of 5 and 9. – “Fear” and “Inspiration” for students between the ages of 10 and 13. Our students won FIRST prize in both categories: Olivia G. (Grade 4) for her “A Cat’s Poem” and Elisabeth C. (Grade 8) for her poem “Disillusioned”. In addition, Antonio L. (Grade 4) was commended for his poem “Mummies”. A special “thank you” to our English and Literature teacher, Ms. Monaco, for her effort to coordinate the submissions to the Keats-Shelley House. Congratulations to all our participating students and teachers for their commitment and impressive achievement.‘If poetry be the food of love, write on!‘
